Field Orientation and Training
Our next training / field orientation is scheduled to be in the Washington, D.C. area May 24-June 11, 2010.
This will involve:
* Kurdish culture and language training (30 hours) - so you can learn and practice survival language and culture skills
* training in teaching English as a foreign language (20 hours) - general teaching principles and specific training in using the New Bridges materials that we'll be teaching from during the summer
* orientation to our organization and to northern Iraq / the Kurds
* team building
* training in good communication skills (6 hours)
* training in communicating the important things in life to people from the Middle East

Classes in Northern Iraq
We'll arrive in N. Iraq June 14. Then we'll have a few days of of orientation and Kurdish language/culture learning, and English class registration. Summer classes will begin around June 22 and end around August 3. Classes will be 5 days a week, 2 hours a day. Stay through the first week of August to have more time to hang out with your students and do some more travel and touristy things. Join us! |
