Introducing New Bridges

New Bridges is an innovative new series of materials for teaching English conversation.  Based on solid principles and practices of teaching language to adults and developed by experienced language professionals, New Bridges materials:

• are designed for use in conservative cultures
• are easy for both new and experienced teachers to use
• are custom-made for educated adult learners who live in the Middle East (but could be used anywhere in the world)
• are complete student and teacher textbooks, organized by subject matter
• are written in American English
• provide opportunities for students to develop real-world communication skills in appropriate cultural contexts
• focus on developing student skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar
• are designed in grayscale on A4 paper
• are designed to be printed in local copy shops or printing houses anywhere in the world (although hard copy books must be purchased from us if you live in the U.S.)
• are sold in a portable document format (pdf) through the purchase of a license
• can be purchased as printed, unbound master pages (for license holders only)
• can be purchased as printed, bound books without the purchase of a license

Each level of the materials:

• includes a student book (average of 145 pages)
• includes a teacher’s edition (average of 250 pages)
• is designed for 48 academic hours of instruction (although we recommend that Books 4 and 5 be stretched to 96 hours of instruction)

Here is what's in the Teacher's Resource Pack:

     Book A is made up of 40 "Focus Charts" (200 pages).  The Focus Charts tell you which TRP materials are available to supplement the lessons in each New Bridges student book.  They are full of teaching ideas, activities, games, and other teaching resources designed to complement the New Bridges teacher's editions.  Instructions for when and how to use the Game Cards are also detailed in the Focus Charts.
     Book B is 225 pages of full-page size pictures which are designed specifically for the New Bridges lessons.
     Book C is 400 pages of handouts, activities, games, writing assignments for Books 2-3 students, definitions and vocabulary puzzles for Book 5 students, and other teaching resources that are complementary to all the New Bridges books.  The Placement Evaluation Package will assist you in resgistering your new students and in deciding which book is best for them to study.  And you can print out Certificates for your students when they complete their course. 
     The TRP includes a box of unbound pages and a CD so that you can print out most of the Book B and Book C pages for your classroom use.

If you purchase a printing license, the  TRP books and CD of unbound pages are automatically included in the license, along with all the New Bridges student books and teacher's editions.  (Note:  The Game Cards and Conversation Cards are not included in a printing license.)
