We have been teaching English conversation classes in Northern Iraq since September 2003. Our English program became known as "MELIK" in 2005. We use the New Bridges textbooks and teaching resources. These books focus on conversation and also teach listening, reading, and writing skills. Our students are adults ages 18 and older. Our class size is usually limited to 18 students.
Our English teachers are seeking to make a difference in the educational system of Northern Iraq. We have a friendly relationship with the University of Dohuk, and we open our classes community members of the city that we're located in.
Our summer teachers are members of Millennium Relief and Development Services (MRDS), a non-profit relief and development organization that has been working in Northern Iraq since 1998. For more information visit www.mrds.org. |
